This thread is for the status of the game. If it goes down, scheduled downtime, problems connecting, etc...

Everything is done, but I have to reboot the server. On top of that, it is installing a bunch of microsoft updates, so it may be a little while. I can't tell you the last time I rebooted, so please bare with me.

I have a problem. The map I have from planet generator, doesn't want to run well in ptbs.
For one I have no controls in the program. I can't save, I can't kick, all I have is an hourglass. the program is also using 4 times the processor and 10 times the ram normally used. I am not sure why this is. Anyone have any ideas?
I could also try a smaller map, but I don't think that would do it I have two huge maps running right now with no problems.
Man, all of these games and issues, I should start charging $1 a month for each game I host. lol
Anyway, I will try a couple more things, including a new map, but I don't think this will get going tonight. Let me know if you guys come up with anything. Sorry there are more problems. There are always more problems.

well if I create the map in ptbs with the planet generator it works better, but still the memory usage way above normal. But at least it works. I will try generating a map again tomorrow and run through it again. Sorry about this.
I have to head to bed now, I will look into this tomorrow.

Actually, I have had one set up for donations for CDG from years ago, but ever since CDG went away and I helped FortyJ get Strategamer up, I sort of forgot about it. I don't even know the account information or the link for it anymore.

Well I tried it again, but it still didn't run right. Then something came up RL, you guys sure you want a planet generator map? Is this a known issue with planet generator?
I guess I could try it on my game system tonight...

I'm pretty sure I speak for just about everyone when I say, we just want a game. Thought Planet Generator would make it easier for you, apparantly not, go standard, and try to edit it to keep the galley contact. Pleeeeeeeaassssse

Hey, I wasn't sure how intent you guys were with using Planet generator. I'll ram up a game tonight and make sure there is galley contact for everyone.

I say just go with the ingame generator.
Arch/Snakey. In my experience with this setting you probably won't even have to edit the map for galleys.
You might want to help out any tundra civs however, by changing some of their tundra to plains or grassland.

Game is up, test it out and post your success/failure. Seems to be working fie so far. After I confirm this is going well I will set up civstats.
Oh yeah, the Hannibals are the only ones that I named after their teams, the rest are obvious who they belong to.
