I agree. Most upper and middle income class kids dress like slobs because everyone knows they have money and they have nothing to prove while poor kids dress well because they're afraid people will recognize their lower class origins.

I just wear what's comfortable. I know I'm not fashionable in the least bit, but I don't really care. And I still have a girlfriend. I don't become friends with the type of people that think aesthetics has any real meaning outside of how it is viewed.

is this where everyone says that what they where is the proper style for everyone else?
in that case
don't comb your hair
cut it every so often (no more than once every two months)
shave a little more often (just enuogh so that yuo almost always have 1 week to two week old scruff on your face)
wear whatever is handy for pants and shirt (clean underwear is a must though), also, make sure that you sniff twice, once is not enough people 
hmm, also, keep wearing clothes until they become anceint, I still wear pants from eighth grade
finally, your fashion sense is best when you are exhausted so stay with whatever you put on in the morning
whether it is inside out or backwards, your initial senwse of style was right so don't change it
I must be doing something right because I have had a nonzero number of girls come up to me and ask if I was starting a new style or something
oh, one last thing, being colorblind is crucial, than you can see all sorts of new and interesting matches to make with your clothes

nah chegitz... poorer people dress to impress each other... though the black boys ive met at temple seem to either dress like me (no matter where they're from from brooklyn to wisconsin) or they are formal, wearing buttoned down collared shirts and ties. I have yet to see any white boys at temple who dress in either style. They seem to either be incredibly sloppy or wear sloppy ambercombie t-shirts. girls, whether black or white or whatever, seem to wear the same sort of clothes though... there's a million different types of female clothes but what Susie wears on monday looks a lot like what Latanya wears on thursday know what i mean?

I like dressing well (like no shorts, ever unless I happen to be eithe at the beach, or walking the dog in the neighborhood), but I sure as heck don;t think I can give anyone fashion hints.
As for facial hair, IF you can, grow a beard at least once, just to see, and if you are young, to get beer...
