"For Completeness Sake": Win a Copy of 'CivIV: Complete' Signed by Sid Meier!
PolyCast, the entertaining and informing Civilization series podcasts, are giving away 25 copies of Civilization IV: Complete in conjunction with developer Firaxis Games. The title combines CivIV and its two expansion packs Warlods and Beyond the Sword which retails for $39.99US. But 5 of these copies include a something special extra: the signature of Sid Meier, the Director of Creative Development at Firaxis.
Between December 1st-25th, 2009 ( ET-North America), complete the following sentence in response to this thread here on Apolyton Civilization Site:
"Civilization IV makes my life complete by..."
The 25 most creative and constructive responses, across this as well as corresponding threads on Civilization Fanatics Center and WePlayCiv ( reference #1/ #2), will be selected to win its poster one of these copies -- the top 5 to receive one with Sid's signature on it. One entry per person; note that any responses that indicate they have been edited will not be considered. Further, if selected, one must respond with mailing address and phone number for delivery within the specified time period. The judging of these entries is being done by Daniel "DanQ" Quick, PolyCast's owner, primary editor and one of its flagship show's regular co-hosts.
The total retail value of these prizes exceeds $1000US (related reference: signed litograph by Meier, valued at $99.99US).

Dan, two questions:
1) What is the criteria upon which the responses will be evaluated?
2) What is the prospective audience? To wit: will the catch-phrase be used in marketing or something?

i havent had any problems yet with him, if hes on my island then i know whats coming even if i spread my religion to him and get him to convert, i keep my scouts near by especially if i can get an open borders with him and once i see him start building SOD's, time for war, last time i was the romans, took me alittle while but with prateorians and macemen was pretty easy got 2 gg's outta it but he put up a good fight, bout 20+ units first three cities after those the last 4 were 3 or less even the cap, lol. tokugawa seems to suck all the time, hes in my current game next to the chinese, he hasnt went to war with anyone but he sucks, way behind everyone, still building samurais while others have rifleman and i have paratroopers/infrantry/artillery/destroyers/fighters/and in 6 turns will finally have tanks, just made an alliance with the americans they were 800 points behind me but 3rd most powerful, did after 2nd most made 4th his vassal.

Civilization IV makes my life complete
By buying a package très petite
And simply typing on my keyboard
Allowing me to be a Warlord
Or rather play Beyond the Sword

Civilization IV makes my life complete
because even in defeat,
I always forget to eat
which leaves my tummy petite.
So the women feed me treats
while basking at my feet.

I know, but another requirement of limericks is that the A sentences have 8 or 9 syllables. The lengthier first sentence given by Dan made limericks impossible anyway, so I just made it a freeer rhyme.

Civ makes my life complete, because I kept waiting for DanQ to answer my question, and then said "screw the contest" and went to play more Civ.

Based on the response to date, that is already being realized!

Another very good question, and anticipatory follow-up with it. The prospective audience is not only Civ series fans, but computer strategy gaming fans in general.
On the marketing front, only insofar as any statements online could be used in product promotion. I am certain that if Firaxis or publisher 2K Games were to use one or more of the responses to this contest, whether it won a copy of CivIV: Complete or not, that the poster would be credited (by their username presumably).

Hmm. I'm not so worried about credit, though that of course would be nice (I'm sure whoever wins will share that feeling) and to some extent expected as good professional behavior and marketing relations to the fan base.
Primarily, the reason I think the questions are apt is because the audience and intended purpose will dictate what makes the best response. In that sense, you didn't really answer the question. Any further enlightenment you could share?

giving me my own nation, in another world, to shape, create, shake and bake.

Civilization IV makes my life complete
By whisking me away from my keyboard and my seat,
To an undiscovered globe for me to explore
To chart the mountains, rivers, plains, the oceans and the shore.
My hardy folk they settle, a mighty city found,
Workers irrigate and mine the land that doeth surround
This home of learning where my great philosophers decree
New concepts of science, building, faith, and literacy.
The Wonders of the World are built to show my peoples glory,
New cities founded, culture spread, my nation’s glorious story.
The resources and power of the land are brought to me,
Copper, Iron, Marble, Gems, Gold and Ivory
The rulers of other lands with jealous eyes espy,
The bounties of my nation and so each of them try
To share its wealth by means of trade and slick diplomacy,
Or seize my lands by force of arms and foulest treachery.
But through this constant struggle 'tis my nations star shall rise,
In this contest of peoples it is mine shall take the prize.
Mine shall be the legacy that stands the test of time,
And what is more, I'll do this in the medium of rhyme.
Civilization IV makes my life complete
By whisking me away from my keyboard and my seat.
And whenever my time in this paradise draws nigh
"Just one more turn!" rings out as my eternal cry.

Civilization IV makes my life complete,
By allowing one such as i to accomplish mighty feats.
A simple man who seeks to find,
a way to leave normality behind.
If only for a moments breath,
the heat of battle and science of death.
The road to greatness laid out in steps,
Sid Meiers creation, i probe its depths.
From the moment i wake i hear its call,
Judgement and prudence stops the fool.
For should this simple man abate,
What an emperor he would make.
But bills unpaid and money constricted,
would soon see this simple man evicted.
Thus it is that upon my rest,
is when i march and present my crest.

Civilization IV makes my life complete by providing an environment where (in contrast to The Real World):
- planning is more important than luck
- the other guys' behavior is predictable
- winning is possible
- the rules are finite and comprehensible
- I'm rewarded for making good decisions
- I can reload and try again if I mess up
