Bump this thread
When you start with no bronze, no iron, no horses, on a tiny peninsula yet you still take first!
I had to sit until I got long bows and cats because without metal that was the best I could do. Yet still I conquered. Take that mother *****es!

Well, this should have been in the Civ4 forum but I was so excited about not having any metal or horses but still winning. ****, I even researched crossbows forgetting you needed metal to build them. He even attacked me without warning but I had just gotten long bows and so beat him.

It was MP with three human players and four AI players though I didn't meet any AI until late in the game.

Yeah, nothing worse then researching steel and forgetting you need iron for cannons.

No horses, no heavy metals. You should have been toast. Why do you think you got ignored until you'd reached a saving tech? Well done!

I guess it all depends on which civ was blocking you from the mainland. AI or Human, either being foolish not to finish you off. But if human found early enough, sometimes a non-aggression deal could be quite usefull. I could reasonably bet that it wasn't one of the psycho ai's.
