"Firaxis Q&A" (Part 3/5)
During ApolyCon '06 held in Timonium, Maryland last July, Firaxis Games Director of Creative Development Sid Meier, Designer/Programmer Soren Johnson and Senior Producer Barry Caudill answered attendee questions about the company, the Civilization series and computer strategy gaming in general. Recorded by event Chairman Daniel "DanQ" Quick, what they said is now being made publicly available in a series of installments.

In the third of five parts, Johnson talks about his first experience with Civilization college and how he first learned just how little he actually knew about the series. Caudill touches upon his experiences with Quality Assurance (QA) and the differences in approach publisher Take-Two Interactive brings to Firaxis since purchasing the developer. These two Firaxians then address common technical difficulties in playing Civ online with possible solutions in part in response to attendee questions, and finalizing User Interface (UI) design. The subject of modding capabilities in CivIV is then broached.

Available for listening in streaming 64kbps MP3 format, Part 3 runs for 17m51s (8.5MB); please note that due to the approach to recording, its technical quality is not ideal even after numerous post-production efforts but is by and large audible. Part 4 is scheduled to be published on March 12th.
