For anyone who uses ToT, I'm releasing my Terrain1.bmp and Terrain2.bmp files for the standard game. I always hated Microprose's terrain graphics for ToT and this appears to hold true for others - most ToT scenarios are released using old 8-bit Civ2 terrain graphics.
Screenshot:
Edit: Removed. It's easier to update when they're all in the one place. That place is here.

Places for you to dwell in and gather around the fire...
I hope this will make the world a little less colder...
The first one is from my Irish Monks scenario (W still IP)
I drew the Sasanid style for Palaiologos' Rome scenario
The Polynesian style is from "Lost Paradise"
I think that both Palaiologos and Winterfritz wanted to use the Roman style
The Mycenean style is old, but I feel it needs some promotion

Extremely nice work everyone!
@Catfish:
That terrain is indeed a mass improvement over the dull shades used by normal ToT!
Most impressive!

Hey Pericles!
Great work with those icons!
Once you make one, it's difficult to stop!
BTW, I lost all my emails in PC crash on Wednesday.
Can you remind me if I have any artwork for you that is still undelivered?

Map grid fun
No spectacular looking graphics, but some that can make civ2 look better nonetheless... Some new grid icons.
Upper-left: This might not look very exciting, but this grid looks much smoother than the standard one.
Left center: Make your grid a little more funky.
Bottom-left: A smoother city square marker to accompany the new grid.
Upper-right: An alternative "cursor", ToT style
Right center: An alternative cursor that would fit the the "wrong grid" very well...
I made these with ToT in mind, but they would work for all versions. Note that ToT uses different graphics for the blinking cursor and the shared city squares in the city view. So you can actually change the cursor without also screwing up your city view.

These are great, Mercator. I'm now using the upper-left and bottom-left grids as standard. It's amazing that by simply removing the 3-pixel steps from the diagonals you get a noticeably smoother grid.

Strangely enough, I'm not. Even after more than 6 years I've never touched the graphics of the standard games.
