OK. How about something as simple as this, but reduced?
Game League needs to be bigger and/or in bold? Different font? Trash it?

That's still not nearly bold enough. I'd either go for:
* C2 GL icon, just like the C2 MP icon - simple, easy to read, but sort of boring
* Slightly stylized version of that, like the SL icon, with GL and the pyramid, but much bolder than the above

Isn't it just a matter of uploading the image to the right folder?
All current CivGroup icons are GIFs in the same folder, named after the CivGroup ID. So, presumably, this icon should go here:
