Everyone needs to find a team within ~one week. I'm in discussions with Markos about opening new forums, and the sooner we get the teams finalized, the sooner we can get forums set up, the sooner we can start polling over the details of the game, and thus, the sooner we can start the game itself. :)
Therefore, everyone unaligned please try to find a team soon.
So, when will you start on version 3 ? :cute: :p

Just as soon as I can get some polls up and running. ;)
I wanted to join the Mohammed al-Sahaf team, but they don't have a thread yet. :(
(And no, I wouldn't create a thread for the team, this would make me responsible for things and I just want to be a member, nothing more.)

That's obviously a lie so you passed the test and you can join the Mohammed al-Sahaf team :D Ooops, wait, that's a lie, too :p :cute:
:D
(btw, this smilie is for real)
is it wise to start so soon? i mean many teams dont have enough members IMO. And especially my team monkey... we dont have any players that I can rely on being able to play consistently (especially me :p ).

We probably won't start for another month or so. I just want to see that large list of unaligned members to shrink some soon. ;)

We need to avoid starting this until we can get the first PTW Demo game's fatal error resolved. If it turns out it is unfixable we need to know what caused it and avoid causing that same error in the second one.

Good point Ghengis. :b: I agree completely.
What was the problem with the first game?

Seconded. After the first PtWDG and one of my PBEMs crashed entirely and irrecoverable, and another PBEM game nearly (it always crashes, when one of us enters the "Active deals" sections of the diplo or foreign advisor screen), this game gets the toss. I'm finally sick of it. I will continue my PBEM games, and may be play the one or other SP game (although I almost ceased to play SP), but I won't put any effort in a new DG.

Let's give Firaxis a chance to respond to this situation before we go throwing the whole game out. It could've been some teams fault that the crashes are happening; like someone trying to cheat!
Let's wait a bit and see....
uh-oh. This is bad news. :(

The game crashes with multiple players, this game and many others and its all because of a team in the PTW Demo game cheating?
That's a bit of a stretch, Big Free. I have complete faith in the players of this game and their teammates and believe that if someone cheated their teammates would come forward and denounce their actions.
GF, I don't think BF was accusing anyone, just looking for an alternative/option.
Looking for straws might be an other way to describe it ;).
You're right btw, one person cheating is possible, but certainly not a whole team.

I don't think they could get away with it. I mean even when we were in the anarchy between Despotism and Republic we still generated Culture points and someone would have noticed if we were leaping ahead in those.
I think it would be virtually impossible for someone to cheat in this game and get away with it as we have too many staticians continually analyzing the game and team standings.
hi ,
:hmmm: , maybe some-one did something without having wrong intentions , .....
where are the judges , ...
have a nice day
ok guys on topic...
anyways team monkey is ready to go. We have sufficient members for eligible status. Though I woul dlike to see more people join. Running a game with only 5 people would be VERY hard.
C'mon folks. Team monkey is the ULTIMATE challenge. And you know you like monkeys!

ALl you need to know is in this thread (http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84781&perpage=30&pagenumber=1).
And if you're interested in looking at the set up threads for the other teams here, go to the CivGroups page 2 (http://apolyton.net/civgroups/?s=&action=&perpage=30&pagenumber=2), then click on the teams links under the heading 'PTW Democracy Game II Teams'.

"It is the best of teams. It is the worst of teams. It is the civilization of our discontent."
A little Dickens aside, Team Monkey is a small, but well united team of Simian species - all dedicated to:
a) the survival of monkeys (something which is in jeopardy right now)
b) the expansion of Simian culture (which takes second billling to a) above)
c) protection of mother earth (which sadly has also been pushed to a back burner by current affairs - although Team Monkey is still proud to say thay we have not cleared a tile of jungle (aka rain forest) or cut a tile of forest for its economic gain.)
Interested???

Team Monkey's only chance for survival is to declare their fealty toward the Muhammed Al-Sahaf Team. Should they show such wisdom, the forces of the Heaven themselves will swoop down to save the monkeys from defeat.
As your enemies press forward and begin burning your jungles, remember our offer.

OK ... where do we sign? :b:
You don't have to sign anything you just declare your fealty to MAST, the wisdom shown by doing this will cause your enemies to commit sucide at the gates of your cities.
Make no mistake about it, all you have to do is convert to mastism and the gods themselves (ie not us) will take care of your foes.

You can doom yourself to eternal suffering or you can join us.
Even if you do choose unwisely, remember that we love you anyways.
This message has been brought to you by the Muhammad Al-Sahaf Team, your neighborhood friend. :)

They are as deperate as they are evil. May your journey to the dark side be both short-lived and unrewarding. (;) J/k of course. Welcome to the game sleepy - even if you have chosen the wrong team.)
Oh yes - I forgot ....

More to the point, a continent without any iron. It is surely a sign of divine vengeance against those peoples.
I really need to get a job as a salesman ;)

I think you perhaps underestimate the cruelty of the gods. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if every source of coal in the world is stored on a tiny island out in the middle of the ocean.

Why not? Cort, Krill, Asleep and I are all members of the Gathering Storm. And we all know about GS's resource problems. Why would it be any different in this game?
