Hi,

dutcheesescenariopak7.zip

A Race for Conquest is the latest scenario added to the pack.

Start with 4 human players on a predefined map. The first player to utterly defeat another civilization wins.

Here's the twist. On an island in the middle of the map stands a lone gunman--the last of his civilization. Which civilization will get to him first?

Overview: Best played with 4 humans and 1 computer player. Player 5 is the lone gunman. Start the game with 5 settlers, 25 advances, 20,000 public works and 15,000 gold. Build your first 5 cities before turn 6 and they auto grow to size 5. This game is played without the fog of war.

Loading this scenario pack does not modify the original game files. Please read the readme file for further installation information especially if you want to use the PBEM game.

actually, the first of dutcheese's scenarios, Meet the Challenge, has been in our db for more than two weeks now, long before Domk discovers it and starts advertising it around the world... http://apolyton.net/forums/smile.gif

Hi,

I just wanted to thank Domk for adding the scenario sent to the sidgames site and to Apolyton for the near future download addition.

The last time I checked here the Meet the Challenge scenario was listed as a MOD http://apolyton.net/forums/frown.gif. The funny thing is at first it was listed here as a scenario but since there isn't a scenario section you really couldn't get to it so I guess that's why it's now listed as a MOD.

You know I've sent numerous dutcheese scenario updates to this site but they were never added. Don't understand why not. Maybe there's a little bias. My wife thinks I should drop out because of the politics and apparent favoritism associated with getting anything published on this site. We'll see... Maybe I just need that vacation.

It finally took a competitor to publish my scenario before it will get published correctly here. My goal is to just increase the gaming pleasure of this great civilization game series.

Really I’m just venting. This site is a great place to find great people with similar gaming interests with obviously great gaming taste.

dutcheese,

I explained to you by mail why Meet the Challenge is now listed as a mod. The scenario pack will replace MtC and will be listed as a mod

Now, as for the delay. Yes, we don't post files the next day we get them. But from that point, to implying all sorts of things...
You know, as you guys do mods and scenarios for free in your own free time, we do this site for free too in our own free time. You're geting a free service. Be a little less anxious about geting served perfectly. I hope I'm not asking too much

And may I remind you that I've similar compaints from other creators too. Everyone's files got posted though.

Domk, the current file started a scenario pack with one scenario(actually a mod as it didnt have a map), called Meet the Challenge. Later dutcheese added the multiplayer scenarios and the race to conquest scenario

I'm probably venting too right now http://apolyton.net/forums/wink.gif, but when you post a complaint like that, it seems to me that you are forgeting who opened this forum in the first place, who created and maintained the modification pages, who posted rhapsodic news items about the creations of the people of this forum.

Hi MarkG,

Thank you for all the effort you put into making this site enjoyable http://apolyton.net/forums/smile.gif

About the scenario pack... Since A Race for Conquest is an actual scenario with a map and a different end game implemented how can you still list the scenario pack as a MOD? It's a scenario plain and simple.

we still have the first version of the pack which only has MtG...
once the last version is uploaded, it will be listed as a scenario

Hi everyone, I just wanted to voice my opinion here.

Markg, This is a really great site and I really enjoy the forum. You have a really big task on your hands. We all know that you must go through the forum everyday and you have always replied to people in a prompt manner. Maybe to solve some of the complaints about the slow posting of scenario's and mods you could advertise for a person to take care of that for you. I am sure there are people that would enjoy doing that and contributing to the ctp universe.

I would also take the complaints as a compliment. Many people use the forums and wanna download scenario's right away. This is the first place I come anyway.

Thanks guys

Bet this site doesn't add the Dutcheese Scenario Pack until the Apolyton pack is ready.

Hey Dutcheese, stop sniping! MarkG and the Apolyton boys do a good job and I suspect they have lives to lead as well.

I don't think it's anything personal that your pack isn't up on this site yet, as I remember it took a long time for CD's mod v4.2 to arrive as well (and that was probably the single most important mod we've seen for the game, including both patches).

By the way, your pack is great and I'm sure will prove very popular when it arrives.
