THIS POLL CLOSES IN 2 DAYS FROM NOW!!!!
The options are :
Less than 24 hours
24 hours (1 day) - 7 turns a week minimum
48 hours (2 days) - 3.5 turns a week minimum
72 hours (3 days) - 2.3 turns a week minimum
84 hours (3,5 days) - 2 turns a week minimum
More than 84 hours
Please remember that the map will be reviewed and tweaked by a human mapmaker before we get to play on it so all will be as fair and interesting as possible.......

I've got to say, with such a large team, spread over so many time zones, that I think 72 hours may well be the way to go......
I'll withhold my vote pending more opinions though.....

What map size do we have?
Alot depends on this.
However - as we are a much varied team - and many of us are not used to "playing" with each other - I think longer turns are better for following a more democratic style.
As such I voted 72 hours - but could happily go with longer terms.

The thing to remember with the turn timer is that it is a maximum length of turn - not the mandated/set length of the turn.
If all teams finish their turns before the timer runs out - then the timer clicks over anyway, and a new turn begins.
I also know there has been some suggestion of a mod that will allow us to change the timer length during the game.
Now - I for one just shudder at the thought of those conversations :argue: about when it should be changed and what too.
Keep it a nice long timer IMO.

I concur. 72 hours should provide the necessary time during the more complicated phases of the game to conduct analysis and discussion.

By the time a turn needs lots more time to decide on things, half the team will be AWOL anyway. ;)

48 hours is the timer length in the Warlords game.
It is hard enough getting the opinions and agreeance of 5 players, who know each other pretty well, who live in 4 timezones.
72 would be better.

Two teams voted for 24 hours, two teams voted for 48 hours, we voted for 72 hours, two teams did note vote (again).......
I thought 48 hours was a good compromise.....
