So i got an xbox 360 the other day (boo hiss) and using a VGA cable slapped it into my PC monitor (no HD TV and the missus wouldn't let me anyway). Now i am stuck with the sound though. I'd prefer to be able to hear the sound through my current PC headphones, though I am aware of things like Sharkoon X-Tatic 5.1 headphones which would be more suitable (bit expensive for now though).

Anyone got any idea what kind of adapter I'd need to get the sound from the red/white cables with male jacks into a PC headphone with 3.5mm male jack?

Isn't there a way to route the sound through the controller? It's got that itty-bitty headset jack.

That's only for the Xbox Live bit, speaking to and listening to others, don't think you can port game sound to it.

Looks like you'll need an RCA to mini jack adapter.

and ignore the responder's idiotic use of netspeak... he's right, if a moronic a-hole.

If you have a proper sound card, it probably has an optical-in port, which would be better.

I believe the adapter would be like the bottom two on this page:

Radio Shack should have something of that nature.
