Okay maybe some M$ apologist can help me.

I'm humoring the Vista Aero interface but I've ran into a problem, well, screenshots are easiest:

Hopefully the problem is evident - with Aero the contrast on the selected item in this case "endl" (and some other stuff like the bar down the left side) is too low, I can hardly see it. This is a problem in at least two applications, and one other is a lot worse because the bar in question is only a couple pixels wide.

I can't figure out where to change the color for that particular interface item. It doesn't seem to be under Appearance->Advanced (or at least the scrollbar option has no COLOR setting!).

Which application? It looks pre-Vista.

Code::Blocks and Winmerge both suffer from this.

Aero is useless anyway, okay the defractive glass thing looks cool but that's IT, it's not a single bit more functional.

Evil empire software ftl :q:.

So both legacy Win32 crap free-apps...just checking.

Aero is just a graphical style like Luna from XP. More functional? Christ, don't be so stupid.

Expecting added functionality from M$ software "upgrades" = stupid :b: :b: :b:.

The functionality is in WPF. Which adds an incredible amount of functionality, if you know what it is.

My company just landed a contract with Reuters to WPF-ify their software. It's really slick, and does add functionality. It allows Reuters editors/feed watchers to tilt windows to fit more on the screen without affecting readability, as well as zooming in/out on an entire window (shrinking/expanding). And I don't mean resizing.
