View Full Version : Teh Vista Clean Install Thread

I upgraded my RAM from 2GB to 6GB (the two extra 2GB sticks cost as much as my two old 1GB sticks that I bought last year), so I need to move to Vista 64 :crook:
I lightened up my Ultimate install image using V-Lite (http://www.vlite.net/), and am burning it to DVD now.
Mail, Firefox profile, Trillian profile, all media, etc., are on their own drives. The only thing I'm worried about is my ffdshow settings; I exported them to text, but if they don't import correctly I'll be pissed as hell - it took me days to get it set up right.
Well, I'll be back in a few hours.

I'd wager it's due to GICS concens.
You know, the Genital Inadequacy Compensatory Syndrome.

I've gotten memory allocation errors in CIV with only 2GB. OTOH, I'm pretty sure it's only 32-bit so it woudln't ever be able to use more than that anyway.
For Milton 3.0, I was debating 8 GB. But the 2GB DIMMs just aren't fast enough.

:hmmm: It seems all my Firefox extensions were stored in my profile, so I don't need to reinstall them

You aren't playing on a 200x80 map with 24 civs. Just loading it takes a hair under 1 GB.
