Does anyone here know if it's possible to save a preferred folder view setting?

I'm so extremely tired of having my folders use the default overly huge icons. Every time I open a folder I've never opened before (and sometimes with folders I open all the time) it shows my files with these extreme huge ugly icons... I want list view dammit

I remember I had the same problem in WinXP, I had hoped they fixed the problem... but no :(

Yes, I believe it is possible to save the preferred folder view settings... though I'm at work and can't quickly look at it to see exactly where, I know that I've done it on my computer at home.

Same way as in XP.

But how to do it in XP? The only way I could find was in folder options using the "apply to all folders" button, but that one worked like... never

That always worked fine for me... it only applies to folders of the same type, though. So if you set the settings for a "Pictures and Videos" folder, it won't alter and "Documents" or "All Items" folders.

There should be an option for this to apply to ALL folder types, I don't care if it's video or pictures or documents or just random files, they should all be listed using list view

Find a folder of each type (or cycle one folder through the types) and set that setting for all of them...

Already done that a thousand times, I always do this for video folders, but next time I create a new video folder it automatically goes back to default

Well then there is something wrong with your computer ;). Like Kuci, once I set it, it stayed that way.
