• All predictions must be sent by 11:59pm GMT before the day of the first game in each round.
• Each entrant may only place 1 prediction per game. Predictions can be changed though until the cutoff time.
• There will be 3 points for picking the Winner <s>& 1 extra point if you can predict the Man of the Match.</s>
• In the event of a wash-out, the match will be played on a reserve day. Prediction will carry over to the reserve day. If there is still no result, all player will be given 1 point for that match (same as if it's a tie).
• There will be a bonus of 5 points to any entrant who nominates the Player of the Tournament. This nomination must be in before the first match is played.

WORLD CUP, GROUP D, JAMAICA:
Ireland 221-9 v Zimbabwe 221 all out - match tied
Ireland's first World Cup appearance ended with a pulsating tied encounter against Zimbabwe in Jamaica.
Zimbabwe looked to be in command in pursuit of 222 with only 15 needed from 36 balls and four wickets intact.
But three wickets fell for one run and nine were still needed from the final over. Requiring a single to win off the last ball, Ed Rainsford was stumped.
Jeremy Bray helped Ireland to a challenging total, carrying his bat with 115, his second ODI century.

They are suspicious because they are wildly improbable predictions. The Gulf between the top Cricketing nations like India and Pakistan, and minnows like Bermuda is massive. OK, so Ireland got a tie against Zimbabwe, who have 'Test' nation status, but Zimbabwe are in turmoil as a cricketing nation, as they are as a nation in general, and are not really good enough for top tier level.

Gibbs got 6 6s in an over  Doesnt Johnnie Walker have to give around $1m to charity now?
LordShiva
March 16, 2007, 18:09
South Africa's Herschelle Gibbs rewrote the World Cup record books in St Kitts yesterday as he became the first batsman to hit six sixes in an over in the competition's history.
Gibbs savaged Dutch leg-spinner Daan van Bunge to also set a new record for runs in a six-ball over in international cricket and for one-day cricket world wide.
The charity Habitat For Humanity will benefit to the tune of $1million from Gibbs' feat as one of the World Cup sponsors have agreed to make a donation in recognition of his achievement.
Van Bunge, a former MCC Young Cricketer who played a handful of one-day games for Middlesex in 2004, was first dispatched over long-on, then long-off twice, then square-leg and once more each over long-on and long-off.
Gibbs struck his blows in the 30th over of a South Africa innings reduced after rain to 40 per side. He was eventually caught for 72 as South Africa surged to 353 for three.
His feat came on a small ground, Warner Park, whose boundaries are just long enough to conform to one-day international standards.
It is only the third time in senior cricket that six sixes have been struck in an over. West Indies legend Gary Sobers was the first to do it, for Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan in a County Championship match at Swansea in 1968. Malcolm Nash was the suffering bowler.
Ravi Shastri, the former India and Glamorgan all-rounder, emulated Sobers at Bombay in 1984-85 when he took 36 from an over bowled by slow left-armer Tilak Raj.
The most runs previously scored from boundaries in an over in one-day cricket was 34 by Viv Richards batting for Somerset in a John Player League game at Taunton in 1977. Slow left-armer David Graveney, now England's chairman of selectors but then playing for Gloucestershire, was the suffering bowler as Richards took five sixes and a four from his over.
The previous bests in one-day internationals came from Sri Lanka's Sanath Jayasuriya, who hit four sixes in the same over twice, and Gibbs' compatriot, Shaun Pollock.
353 in 40 overs
The weather had mercy on the Netherlands.

11th over: SA 100-1
"Stumping, Monty! Stumping, Monty!" barks the insane Badger, as Smith cuts Panesar effortlessly for four before smacking him high over his head for a one-bounce four. "You and me, Mont!" shouts Badger. Mahmood then produces a sublime moment on the point boundary by jogging across to Kallis's gentle cut and booting it accidentally over the rope for four, in the manner of a clown entertaining children.

GASH?! So we lose one game badly to Oz and we're gash (er, whatever that means)?! SA would probably struggle to beat England the way they've played this whole tournament. They'll be trounced in the semi. SL vs NZ II should be a good match though - provided at least some of Bond and Oram and Styris are playing for NZ.
I should remind all that immediately prior to the WC NZ beat Aus 3 times in a row to whitewash an annual NZ-Oz tournament (the Hadlee-Chappell trophy). Three games of cricket in a row is not a fluke. And what's more, NZ has not slumped since then - the team has beaten all in this tournament bar Sri Lanka and Australia, and that's better than any other team except Sri Lanka. The punishing loss to Oz recently looks like a hiccup, not the result of a consistent drop in performance.
This tournament isn't over yet. Regardless of whether NZ make it or not, the worst thing for cricket would be Oz taking it out for a third straight time.

Gotta disagree with your positioning. Oz may well be that far above everyone else, but SA right up there? It was only at their win against England did they manage the top 4. When did they last trounce top teams anywhere near as much or as often as Oz has?

I wouldn't necessarily disagree with that, but I don't think any other team would be challenging to break into the top 2. SA's performances over the past couple of years put them up there with Aus, IMO.
I don't think the system is necessarily flawed either. Aus lost top spot by losing two consecutive one day series, plus the last they played against SA...it's not voodoo or anything...

Yeesh. What appalling matches from NZ and SA. At least I can feel confident NZ has been shining in all but the Oz and Sri Lanka matches, only falling at the tail end of the WC, whereas SA has hardly been in decent shape for this entire tournament, scraping into the semis. And the ranking system is definitely deceptive. Due to that match inconsistency, NZ is probably where they should be, but SA should in no way be 2nd to Oz by only a few points - they have really done nothing to deserve that, and scraping into the semis in bottom position with major upsets early in the tournament is in no way where a number 2 ranked team should be.
Regardless, we have an Oz vs Sri Lanka final. You gotta hope its a contest at least, and I am REALLY hoping SL win. Now there's a team (aside from Oz) that's been performing this WC. An Oz steamroll three times in a row is just getting silly. If only this were pro wrestling where you could boo long enough to have the organisers rethink an opponent winning so easily so often for so long.
