I realise we haven't discovered the appropriate tech yet, but we can still develop nationalism. Plus, as everyone knows, I do have a nationalism-fetish.
Thus, so far, we need:

-A constitution
-A flag
-An anthem
-An emblem
-A motto

Among other things.

Here are some resources. First, a gimpshop-isolated Hive symbol.

We could go for the Japan approach when it comes to the flag. Except that white doesn't really work here....Perhaps black, instead.

As for the anthem...Japan sounds sufficently meditative, though there is something wrong IMO about a Japanese anthem ruling over a Chinese nation. As well, the lyrics are a bit boring, but we could change that.

This one actually might not be bad. The lyrics are sufficently good for a Hiverian state, and the music isn't bombastic but it isn't so subdued either.

The current anthem of the PRC is the March of the Volunteers. Some have accused it of being militant, but it has been used to some effect by the Chinese government in more peaceful propaganda campaigns.

Actually, their anthem is surprisingly tame and non-commie. I quite like it.

NK-Hive hybrid. I made the far right strip wihte (on the hive symbol) because I sened colour overload. Possible variations include:

Having the hive symbol be 50% transparent, resulting in the star from the original NK flag showing through a bit.

Restoring the hive symbol to its original colour.

Moving the hive symbol to the centre.

Maniac your Tiger/Dragon pic just gave an interting idea, perhaps we could do a Civ spoof of Ying and Yang. Rather then a Duality we would have a Trinity. Logo would be a circle divided into 3 segments by curved lines. The colors for Science, Culture and Gold color each segment and a little icon for each Commerce type is at the center of each segment. I'm no artist so if someone wants to take a stab at it please be my guest, we can all critique and modify it as nessary. I think it will make a nice emblem as it combines Chinese and Civ elements into a unique package.

Too fanfarish and trumpety for my tastes. (As a consequence I dislike the anthems of most countries)
