Ministry of City Naming

We draw our inspiration from 2 great sources:

-China
-Socialism

Which further subdivides into:

-Russia
-Socialism

Hence, clearly we must establish a system of naming cities. I propose this:

We rotate from a list of China names, Russia names, and socialism names.

BTW: If we don't have Russian names in there, I will whine :)

Suggestion for second city: Xinmiàn = Flower of the Heart

Though Tassagrad also sounds nice.

Tass, we're aiming to having a lot of coastal cities (and stacking the bonuses of financial trait + colossus + hopefully Great Lighthouse for maximum commerce output), so it's possible that we won't be having an inland city so soon. ;)

I prefer basenames I can remember. IE, know which base we're talking about when I read the name. With Xinmiàn, Níushì and probably some other Chinese translations, I'd just remember them as "the city with a chinese name that starts with an x", untill we have a second chinese city name that starts with an x. I do like their meanings, but fear I won't remember the names of our cities.

I like Proletarian Knot best ...

Also, almost all Yang-quotes in smac are not really communist, but philosphical-nihilist-utilitarian. However, that theme is harder to find city names for :)

Another means for naming the City, the local resorces which are Copper + Cows, put that together and you have a great Idol to worship. So something like...

How about this? A rememberable base name for the illiterates ;) and then an unofficial Chinese 'nickname'. Eg Plex Anthill, Flower of the Heart.

Most Hive base names suck IMO. Personally I'm a fan of realistically sounding city names, instead of stuff like RNG Temple.
