I'm clearly a newb in CIV PBEM because I am unable to define the play order :idiot:

The game seems to be stuck with the civ list order as defined by the scenario !

Luckily England is first and Robworam is playing them. So I sent him the savegame to start.

But if nobody find out a way to force the play order, next will be Platypus, and due to his timeslot it's the worst situation ...

Also thanks to put a password to your game when you receive it the first time.

So guys, notify immediately with direct mail or forum if you see a post saying the turn has been sent to you but you haven't received it. Otherwise we'll loose a lot of time in a deadlock expecting "somebody else" to be handling the turn while it's lost somewhere in the ether.

Speaking of techs, I believe we should haven't allowed tech trade, because before 1300 all the leading civs will be in modern time, and this will considerably decrease the flavor of the game.

But since the AI will trade anyway I believe we all could trade as long as it's fair (i.e. we do not gang up against the AIs).

What's your opinion guys ?

Since we've done more than 10 turns now, I did a bit of math, and it appear we need an averagre of 5.5 days to achieve a turn.

Not bad, but I'm still hoping we could achieve a better speed (esp. since we're only four to play).

In order to improve my response time, I will try to install CIV on my laptop. Most of the time, Platy send my turn when I'm at work in the morning. Which mean I have to wait till I come back home like today (and I will not be back early :( ), But with CIV on my laptop I will certainly indulge myself with a 10mn break to send this turn every morning whenever I receive it :)

I played 2 games at Monarch and the HRE is usually skinned by all it's neightbours because it starts weak. But at Noble level I guess it will have plenty of time to strenghen and we will have it added to Russia and the Ottomans has strong contenders.

It was all the same for me with Platy usually sending my turn half or one hour after I had left home for my office :(

But fortunately, I was able to install CIV on my laptop, and now I'm able to do my turn at work whenever I have 10mn available for a CIV pause :D
