Good luck all :b:
No, we're not using PitBoss. In order to use it someone would have to run it in his computer all the time, for the entire duration of the game.
However I vote for a grace period of 48 hours during each player should play his turn.

I didn't think PitBoss worked that way.

I wasn't aware either until I read about it :(
BTW, by creating an account in GameSpy (can be done within the game) you gain the ability to automatically send turns from within Civ4 and join the respective civgroup, if that's of any interest to you :D

You would also need 2 separate computers if you are to both host a game and participate in it.

I don't think that's necessary. 1 computer can do the job as long as it's always running and online.

Berlin, our glorious capital founded 40 years ago, at the dawn of civilization, is growing steadily while our scouts are searching for traces of other civilizations. So far we haven't witnessed not even a single indication of wild life in the surroundings.
I thought a little roleplaying wouldn't harm :D

I was on the phone for 2 hours last night with the ISP. They seem to think that the problem is on their end. It should be resolved by now. When I get home from work tonight I'll check and play. Sorry about this, I hate hold ups just as much as everyone.
I think its a good idea about having someone play turns for slow players. If a mod feels it appropriate to play my turn now, then that's fine.

I still have not had any joy with my ISP. They promised me yesterday, still nothing was on this morning. Knowing how useless this country is, this could take weeks to fix.
I've already said I'm happy for a mod to play my turn, perhaps they should do so now so as to prevent any further hold up.
Apologies yet again.

Indeed but it could be better if the moderator has the players' passwords too. Can help in case of temporary or permanent replacements, or someone forgets or loses his password.

Unfortunately I am going on a trip this next week, and will be gone until the 5th of June. If the turns do come back around to me and for some reason you can't play my turn for me, then go ahead and resign my player.

Gents, my ISP problems have been resolved. I'm back online finally!
I think we should continue with this game. We've had some bad luck with passwords and what have you, and some of us have been away on holiday (it is the holiday season after all). But the positive thing is that we have all indicated when we are away and why, which demonstrates commitment in my eyes.
My preference would be for us all to now make a special effort to keep things ticking along, and ensure Platypus Rex is copied in when sending the turn. :)

keep up the good turn rate
:b: its going well. I'll be able to keep the rate up until the weekend - going to visit the beaches at the very southwestern tip of England. :) I wont be online Saturday or Sunday.
And Lothar, since EPW isn't watching his team playing at the World Cup, I feel it is our duty to inform him of their progress. ;)

Germany expresses her sympathy to Mongolia for the unfortunate events. Our scout encountered a lion some time ago that succesfully confronted, but is still recovering.
In other news Germany came into contact with another small kingdom like herself, called the Aztecs. We hope our relations prove profitable and not the other way around :scared:

Hey, Guys! Paris is nice. 31 degrees C. Had a stiff neck yesterday though so I couldn't see the top of any of the buildings and when we came to Notre Dame the bells rung and my wife said I looked like Quasimodo. Sweet! I don't mind being part of the scenery. Looking forward to coming home and play my turn though. Yes, I know that's sad. Take care and see you on tuesday/wednesday.
