How to NOT default to random leader in game setup?

Hi,

My little peeve with game startup is leader selection. While the game seems to memorize other settings between games (map size, etc..). It always go back to random leader. :confused:

It spoils the quickstart option when you have a favorite leader.

Not a programmer, but didn't find anything in civ.ini.

Anyone got a clue?

Not a game breaker, but annoying compared to previous CIVs.

Not only random leaders but for me atleast it always defualts to a different name for my player details. annoying.

Dunno about the leaders, but here's what you can do to change the default name:

1. Go to your civ4 folder, where you installed the game.
2. Open _Civ4Config
This is a shortcut to CivilizationIV.ini located somewhere in your docs and settings.
3. Somewhere in that file should be these lines:
; In-game Alias
Alias = *default name here*
Simply change that to whatever you want, save the file and play the game.

That should be fixed in the first patch. I can't see everyone going into their config files just to save their player name.
