View Full Version : The Evil F11 key in Scenario Editor
Okay, I don't remember exactly how to do it, but If you go into the scenario editor on SMAC, and press, oh crap, I think it's Shift+F11, or it might be Ctrl+F11, or maybe Ctrl+Shift+F11, but definitely something to do with F11. And basically you loose control over the mouse and keyboard. the game randomly controls things, datalinks, opening bases. I hit it once and that's how I learned about shooting down other's satellites, because the game just took over everything. It didn't start playing the game, as if the AI took over, but as if the mouse just acted on its own. ONce you exit the scenario editor though, the game is just fine. Somebody, try this out and tell me why this is happening, so that I don't think some poltergeist is controlling SMAC. Maybe its one of miriams holy ghosts, or chaw dawns telekinetic abilities, or some wierd progenitor thing.

WOW !! is all I can say
Shift & F11 within the scenario editor is the hotkey to edit the scenario rules
You don't have to be in the scenario editor to get the effects you describe. In a regular game, ctl & shift & F11 produces the results that you talk about above. A randomly flicking cursor that you can't control, various boxes opening (like the satellite warfare one - btw there's a primer on how to wage star wars here (http://googlie2.tripod.com/rynnsgallery/id9.html) ) and the diplo boxes, etc. All you can do, really, is hit enter to cycle thgose boxes through to their inevitable conclusion - the alpha centauri final score box.
Very wierd indeed

Most bizarre.
Opening direct from site fails, while saving and running does not!
