PITBOSS DIPLOMACY AND THE RULES OF WAR!!!
(18 August 2008, 18:49 | DiploGames) One of the most recent issues to arise in the new Diplogame "Beyond the Pit" is the issue over conduct during warfare. In a game this big in a Pitboss format these issue can be important. We have already seen one issue arise between the Mayans and Koreans which cost us a player! In order to try and solve this issue The Capo has created the "Warfare Turn-Timer Discussion Thread" to try and get a consensus on the issue. Whether you are a member of the Beyond the Pit team, or just a concerned Diplogamer we would appreciate your thoughts on the issue. - The Capo

HISTORY OF THE WORLD
(7 February 2008, 16:34 | DiploGames) History of the World is the long going Diplo. gaming group that has been around for years upon years. History of the World is an epic/marathon speed, weekly event that you can be apart of, where after orginizing the map, settings, and your civilazation of chose, you play in a role- playing - type event that will really make you feel as if you are the leader of the civilazation you are leading, and the role playing doesnt end after the 3 hour session ends. There is a story thread where you and your peers can role play as the council or leader of your civ, talking about diplomacy and the events of the latest session in a serous manner. History of the World has successfully started its 12th sersis recently, 11 actualy, becuase History of the World 10 was skipped over. Now History of the World 10 has been reserected and YOU can be apart of it! History of the world 10 is in early devolopment and has not chosen its players, civs, rules, maps and so on, so you have a chance to be apart of us! NEW YEAR FOR DIPLOGAMERS!
(27 December 2007, 13:38 | DiploGames) We're not there yet of course, but the new year is right around the corner and with it, very likely a new installment of our HOTW Diplomacy Game. This will be numbered 12 in the line, and likely have a start in mid-late January. If you are interested then a preliminary note here: Diplogame Sign-Up Sheet might be a good way of getting in on the fun. As always, there's a whole deal of discussion going on about possible rule changes and such, but the dust shall settle in time for the game as always. If you want a look at the current suggestion for rules head over to - LzPrst

THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD VII
(8 August 2006, 21:40 | DiploGames) Now that the History of the World V is over (and HOTW VI ended months ago) it is time to begin the discussion of the History of the World VII, the next installment in the HOTW series of Diplogames. There are plenty of issues to discuss for the newest diplogame and the Diplogame Civ group needs your help! Please visit the DIPLOGAMES RULE DISCUSSION THREAD and help us with issues as Tech-Trading, Modifications, and Alliance Systems to make HOTW VII the best Diplogame possible. Not only that, if you'd like to join the game itself you can check out the HOTW VII SET UP THREAD and throw in your hat!

As always, the Diplogames CivGroup appreciates new members all the time, so if you'd like to join our ranks visit our MULTI-DIPLOGAME SIGN UP THREAD and drop us a line.

HISTORY OF THE WORLD V ENDS!
(30 July 2006, 11:46 | DiploGames) The History of the World V has ended, and this time it ended right; OzzyKP was the winner as India reached Alpha Centauri first, despite the bombing in Lahore by Spanish Agents and an attempted attack in Madras by the Chinese! It was a great game though, and easily one of the finest Diplogames ever played. I would personally like to thank Deity, Ozzy, Condor (Nolan), LzPrst, OmnipotentTrout, Prussia, Trev, NicodaMax, Cybershy, Kuno, and Toni for their roles and their sportsmanship in one of the greatest games we've played. If you want to check out the final story thread click HERE. And if you care at all about how the game got planned go ahead and click HERE, although I don't know why you'd want to read that! So again, thanks to all who were involved, even those who didn't get to play (i.e. Deity Dude, FlyBoy etc.), you were all a big help and hopefully you can be around for the next one, speaking of which...

This does mark the end of a great game, but it also marks the begining of a new and probably better (why not?) game, there is already plenty of discussion in the History of the World VII thread, so if you are interested in playing in a great game of civilization please drop us a line here and throw your name into the hat. The Diplogame Civ Group always wants new members, so go ahead and try your hand at a Diplogame! - The Capo

GOLDEN AGE OF DIPLOGAMING EMERGES!
(3 April 2006, 14:41 | DiploGames) Over the past few months Diplogames have become increasingly popular here at Apolyton. The Diplogame CivGroup has grown by 50% and shows no sign of weakness as two more Diplogames are on the horizon; the History of the World VI (HOTW VI) looks to follow the lead of HOTW V, and the new "Diplo-Light" scenario "Europe 1092 AD" looks to be a go as well, thanks to OzzyKP. Diplogames are a great way to learn how to play Civ IV, as they are long games played by veterans of Apolyton (such as Cybershy, Deity, Frank Johnson, etc.) and new players alike. The players get to experience all types of events, including war, as well as play in every era available on civilization. Its an awesome way to learn, but an even better way to play.

If you'd like to know more about Diplogaming, OzzyKP has reposted his famous "Diplogame FAQ and Reference Manual" in the Multiplaying forums, to view that thread CLICK HERE.

If you think you're ready to join a diplogame, and test your civilization/diplomacy abilities why not CLICK HERE and see if you've got what it takes to join the History of the World VI!

Or want to try your hand at something light? Well the new scenario "Europe 1092 a.d." is one of the latest attempts of the DiploGaming group to take DiploGaming to the next level. The scene is set in Europe, the year is 1092, and the crusades are upon you! Playable nations include countries like Scotland, the Turks, Castille, Aragon, the Holy Roman Empire, the Papal States and even Lithuania! To try and claim Europe's ultimate throne, CLICK HERE!

Finally, if you are simply interested in seeing how DiploGames work you can check out the latest on the ongoing History of the World V. Check out THIS THREAD to see how a DiploGame gets planned, and to see the behind the scenes discussions that are integral to keeping this epic games afloat! Or if you just want to get the news-reports of what's going on in the land of Terra, check out the HOTW V Storyline Thread! - The Capo
