AU 302 - HOLIDAY SURPRISE
(20 December 2007, 20:56 | Apolyton University | 9 comments) Yes, an AU course just in time for the Holidays! There is no overarching goal for this one other than having a good time. Be warned, though, there are several things about this particular scenario that will defy your standard expectations about a round of CIV, so be ready! - ZargonX

AU202 - NO CIV IS AN ISLAND
(21 March 2007, 14:56 | Apolyton University | 2 comments) AU202 - No Civ Is An Island is now open!

In this course, we will be examining several things related to world aquatic. First and foremost, dealing with an empire of islands, where land is sometimes at a premium. Along with that, managing a navy and dealing with naval combat around the globe. Blockades, convoys, and amphibious invasions are the order of the day. To that end, the chosen civ for this course is the Vikings, terror of the high seas! Your opponents consist of some of the feared naval powers from throughout history, but you'll just have to wait and see how you fare against them. - ZargonX

AU 201 - ALL SMILES!
(17 November 2006, 12:38 | Apolyton University | 1 comments) This course, created for Warlords, will examine the power of the Charismatic trait. When keeping your people happy is made easier, what sort of options does that open up to the player? How does the AI deal with this bonus as well? And, more importantly, when unit promotions come at a discount, how much more thought can be put into building a specialized army?

The chosen leader for this course is Winston Churchill of the English [Chm/Pro]. Your opponents are also all of the charismatic variety, so your charms might not be as persuasive as you hope...

All victory types are active for this course, and, as stated, the main goal is to investigate the benefits/shortcomings of the Charismatic traits, and also to see how the AI takes advantage of it/fails to. - ZargonX

AU102 - TIGHT SQEEZE
(9 August 2006, 13:55 | Apolyton University | 3 comments) Looking out at the world, the situation is dire: land is scarce, enemies are close at hand, and your neighbors? Jerks, every last one of them. Can you lead your people through these trials and tribulations to a future among the stars?

Goals

-Survive!
-Lead your people into space. - ZargonX

AU101 NOW STARTING
(30 April 2006, 22:47 | Apolyton University | 3 comments) Apolyton University is pleased to announce the beginning of a new course: AU101 - Holier Than Thou. The goals of the course are multiple:

-Found as many religions as possible yourself.
-Convert your neighbors to your religions for diplomacy and profit!
-Spread as many religions to your own cities as possible to benefit from multiple temples/shrines/etc.

Cultural wins are a strong possibility here, as is a diplomatic win, but don't feel limited. See how proceeding down the religious tech tree changes your game goals, see how missionairies can spread your religion and give you glimpses into enemy cities, and see how much money can be made through a little faith. Good luck, and godspeed! - ZargonX

AU504: GLORY OF CULTURE
(27 September 2004, 05:48 | Apolyton University) The latest Apolyton University game has begun! The objective is to guide your fledgling Indian civilisation to victory with 100K culture as fast as you possibly can. But beware....the AI may beat you using other victory conditions, so there will be no cruising in this game! Will you win by being a builder.....or a warmonger.....or both? Will your great Indian civilisation gain its cultural supremacy at the point of a War Elephant's tusk?
There are downloads at this thread for every level from Warlord to Sid. If you're really game, try using the AU Mod rules, which enhances AI play considerably.
Remember, everyone is free to play the game however they want, on whatever level they enjoy, and whenever they wish to play it.
The objective at AU is to have fun and share experiences. Visit the forum and you'll see what we mean! - Aqualung71
