Ari Rosenbach:

  • Countries, not city states. How realistic is it for an opposing civilization to establish a city right in the middle of your territory? Especially at the beginning of the game, you have to watch out for opposing settlers moving right next to one of your cities and making one of their own. There should be some sort of way of making real boundaries, and turning your civilization into more than just a collection of cities. Also included in this should be some sort of way to take advantage of resources that aren't in any city squares. By Civilization's definition of city, Siberia, Kansas, Alaska and other rural sparsly settled areas that either have great resources or grow lots of food wouldn't be able to contribute to your cities.

Robert Breiten:

  • The smallness of the maps is a real hold back. I would like to see the map area increased to about five times the size. To accompany this I think there should be at least a maximum of 10 Civilizations at a time. Think a about it how many civilizations are their in the world at any one time? I don't really think that it should just be a line just around your cities. How realistic is it when some AI civ builds a city right in the middle of all your towns; but stays few squares away! IT think these should be established by treaties only and show up on the map when all nations recognize them.

  • The first suggestion I have is a more 3-D environment. I think it would be allot more realistic if panes where in the air units where in the sky, submarines under the water, and Ships on the water. I think the terrain would look very realistic if it where more like the terrain in Sim City 2000. Then you could add underground bunkers, missiles, and under ground or water tunnels or roads.

Tomek Piorkowski:

  • More countries! Maybe all the countries in the selection menu at the same time!

Fnarc Alexandre:

  • In CIV II, there is only 7 civilization. It should be increase in CIV III(also the map should be larger).

Eero End:

  • FIRST OF ALL BIGGER MAP!!!!!!! AND MORE TIME!!!!!!! You can play 3000 years within few hours in dark ages!

Brent Davis:

  • Their should also be more civilizations, 7 isn't enough when in the real world there is like 300.

Uzi Levin:

  • If you want to have a better game than civilization 2 you must enlarge the map. It’s the only way. For example, even at the biggest map carriers aren’t really useful. With a bigger pacific ocean, wars such as the second world war could be restored. For centuries mountains have been borders between civilizations that didn’t really know of the existence of the other. I suggest that difficult terrain types will require more than one turn in order to pass them.

Cor Smal:

  • More than 7 civs, I want a lot more

  • About 100 civs to choose from, or a handy civ-editor and lists of citys and rulers

  • Much larger maps, at least on the world map there should be room for at least three citys in The Netherlands (which now is not even on the map!!!!!!)

Ray Clouse:

  • The thing that bothers me most about Civ & Civ 2 is the map. It's a #@%!#$&! rectangle! I want them to make a three dimensional globe (hexagons, anyone?) be the basis of the game, *not* a rectangle. If you have to cheat a little around the poles, go ahead. Have it so you use the first mouse button to rotate the globe and use the second mouse button to zoom in or out. Sure it's more bleeding edge. SO WHAT! Games are SUPPOSED to be bleeding edge!

Erik Törnquist:

  • Let there be a bigger map option so that more civs have room and the distances are more realistic!

Erik Törnquist:

  • More civs. As the cities can be crowded the more civs got room on the map. A civ shouldn´t be much spread out as in the old games. (Except the russians)
