VIKING SCRIBE #76

A Divided World

I, President Matthew Lamantia of the Americans started with my humble beginning but soon went on to rule half of the entire human race. I settle my first city Washington DC and soon built a huge civilization. I thought that I could live in peace since after Marco Polo's embassy said that no civilizations lived on North and South America. Then for some freakish reason the Zulu were in South America! I had pity on them since they were so primitive and I was out conquering Europe.

In Europe I landed and made contact with the Vikings. They wanted peace but I refused and attacked. Soon, I had killed of the Vikings and had my place in Europe. Meanwhile an exploring ship sailed around the East coast of Africa. Lo and behold! I found the Egyptian city of Elephantine. After bombarding it for a while I left them alone since I was conquering the English and needed more ships. About 1 AD While I was trying to capture England's final cities that were in Western Europe, one of my worst defeats happened.

I was in Eastern Europe and meet with the Mongols I thought they were puny so I declared war. Soon, I lost three small cities which only helped my pride and wondered, "Where in the world are these armies coming from?!" I knew I was whipped and asked for peace. We traded maps to show our "trust" and I almost passed out. THEY HAD CITIES FILLING ALL OF ASIA!!!! Now I knew I should stop but, me being the person I was and having a tiny technological advantage, declared war with them. I had to use clever planning by meeting with Egypt's leader and they wanted me to declare war so I said, "YEAH BUDDY!!!!!" Then they attacked me with tons of units I managed somehow to hold the armies off and even got my cities back (even with a few more). They sued for peace and I accepted. I had gained respect in their eyes. We then again traded maps and I vowed I'd NEVER ever attack them again even if one of my allies asked which I shamefully betrayed.

The final story of this epic is about betrayal and consequences. After losing the Amero-Mongol War I saw on my new maps that the Zulu and Egyptian societies had grown big but primitive. Then I saw them, the Celts, on the tip of Greenland struggling to survive. I knew this be bad but I sent a marine to them but to my annoyance, Congress kept stopping me! After many attempts I conquered the Celts but lost respect in the world. For a few more years the Americans watched in horror as the Egyptians were being devested by the Mongols. During the celebration of my retirement I said to myself drunk with whiskey, "THE ZULU ARE MINE!!!!" Delusional I postponed my retirement and prepared to wipe out the Zulu. My military and foreign advisors told me of the consequences, but I was still delusional, I wanted South America. I sent a carrier down into the Caribbean and sent stealth fighters (since people get mad with bombers with democracy) and started attacking. After on of their cities was defenseless I from Mexico City. I repeated this process over and over. In Africa the Egyptians had been wiped out by the Mongols. As we were celebrating that we received news that the Zulu had been wiped out with minor casualties except for a crazed pilot who disagreed with my views and went kamikaze in a stealth fighter. We celebrated in DC but we had no idea what was before us.

As I sat in my room full of pride and vigor my foreign advisor burst into the room telling me that the man who killed him self had spawned the SARO or The South American Rebellion Organization. SARO then caused almost all of the South American cities went into civil disorder. The next day I sat in the White House in discontent after my advisors said that the government has collapsed and walked out fighting. After numerous attempts to fix the government and get rid of SARO I dipped into the government funds and built temples, cathedrals, and coliseums. While that was happening I had to deal with the famine of Europe and give them more food. Fortunately no one died.

In the year 2110 I meet with the fascist ruler of the Mongol Empire in Verona which is the closest city to their empire and made an alliance with them. We agreed that he would have Asia and Africa (aside from the one city I obtained in a VERY short war with Egypt) and I would have the Americas and Europe. As we signed the pact the world saw the cooperation of two totally opposite leaders and governments which brought us into a new era of A DIVIDED WORLD.
