A Story...
I am playing a game on king level, world.mp, Spanish. It is around 1912 and
the entire planet is at war. My nation has been able to keep its borders the
same since the BC ages, mainly because I am allied with my surrounding
neighbors, it gives me a neat little European war machine if I ever get in
wars too.
Anyway, believe it or not, it was NOW that the world was going international,
the Sioux came from America and became a quickly dominant force in my neck of
the woods, they settled in Africa and easily routed the Zulus. I had found
that they had signed peace with the Greeks, so I thought I would talk to them
and make peace as well, maybe we can add the Sioux to the
Spanish-Greek-Celtic-French alliance.
Mind you I wasn't the best nation on the planet, I could swing third place,
my country had Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Finland, Scandanavia
and some of North Western Russia, you can imagine what it would look like if
you knew your geography, so it wasn't that big in the grand scheme of the
world, we weren't too rich either, we had around 995 gold, but we were smart,
and our cities were VERY comfortable, and our armed forces were small but
were very up to date and could be called very quickly due to our intricate
roads. You may be asking yourself? How do you own all that and France is
still in the game? Well early on in the game the allied Spanish (me) and
Greeks drove the French out of Western Europe, but now they practically own
ALL of modern day Russia, making them a very strong ally.
I digress, I meet with the Sioux, and they say, you are weak you suck bla bla
bla, gimme 700 gold! So I decided that I wasn't going to give in to them,
hell I was a democracy and they were a Fundamentalist government, I would
have nothing of it! So the Spanish went to war, I could tell the Greeks did
not want to go to war as they became immedeatly tired of the tedious alliance
(It made Europe THE strongest thing in this game for over 3,000 years for
god's sake!). But I let them wet their pants, I would fight a defensive war,
the Sioux could never take me out in a defensive war. Madrid (no longer my
capital) became a focal point of Sioux aggression, Sioux artillery and Armor
hit Madrid over and over and over, I couldn't believe the Sioux could command
such a force that quickly. So I sent troops into Western Africa, maybe they
had a city there, well it didn't take long to discover the small city of Dead
Buffalo, which was housing a very strong war machine. I sent my men there to
fight, it was a very long struggle, but the desert city soon fell, and a
yellow flag was raised. Meanwhile the fighting went slower, until the advent
of flight, and consequently, advanced flight.
Soon bombers hit the city of Dead Buffalo (now named Dead Sioux, heh heh), I
let the Sioux have their little city back, and I found the Celts were now at
war with the Sioux, the French said they would come to my aide in declaring
war on the Sioux as well, the Greeks held out. The war sucked for Europe, as
we had yet to discover the power of a bomber they Sioux manhandled the Celts,
I sent men to retake Cardiff from the dirty Sioux, but they seemed
invincable, all my cities were going into riots and as a Democracy I needed
quick solutions so my productivity went down, and as a result so did my army.
The French were having problems of their own, the Sioux took their territory
in Siberia rather quickly.
Cardiff was mine, then it went back to the Sioux again, I formulated a plan
to send a Transport to Northern North America, I have encountered these
bastards many times, I knew exactly where Little Bighorn was (well not in
THIS game, but in normal games ya know) but the Sioux were the man on the
seas so this plot failed. My capital was the former Paris, now named Lutetia
(I am a history buff what can I say, and in case you don't know, that is what
the Romans called Paris; Lutetia) The Sioux made short work of my capital,
what can I say? I was involved in thousands of years in peace and prosperity
so I was not so well defended, anyway a huge army of Partisans surrounded the
city, which was at 18, just so ya know.
Soon Salamanca fell too, that was located in the Netherlands, more Partisans,
and my Democracy failed. This definantly sucked, I was isolationist, I was
primarily interested in trade and science but these dirty Sioux were turning
my European paradise into living hell. No problem, forces from Seville could
save the great capital, so I moved men up, but they all died, my Partisans
were the charm as Lutetia was Spanish again, but now it was a measly 3 and
lost everything good about it, all it had were its Hanging Gardens, its
Granary, and its uh thats it.
Salamanca fell quickly too. Seville was conquered, then Valencia (in Italy)
Madrid fell, soon the Celts cancelled our alliance, so did the Greeks, the
French were too busy fighting the Sioux that they were practically non
existant. No problem, I still had my three most productive cities, Saragossa,
Barcelona, and Cordoba; even Toledo and Valladolid were kickin ass, so I sent
bombers, it was all out war, by the way my bankroll was zilch. I bombarded
the Sioux Cities, or rather MY CITIES. I decided the only way to teach these
heathen scum a lesson would be to take out Little Bighorn, so I sent a ship
with some planes, and with some Howitzers and and Marines and Diplomats over,
along with a Battleship. We fought our way through the Atlantic bitterly,
using smart techniques to evade destruction, and finally our men reached that
bay in Canada (I think its the Hudson), my cities fell behind, my army a rag
tag group of Partisans and a few Howitzers, my empire reduced to rubble, my
new capital in Finland. My allies left me. And I attacked Little
Bighorn..........
1963, is the year, that the Americans would revolt against the Sioux, and
that is the day that Phillip's troops marched into Little Bighorn. And that
is the day that the 50 year war between the Sioux and Spanish would end.
Since then I am struggling to return to my old ways, the former cities I lost
to the Sioux became American, and after the Spanish-American war, they became
Spanish again. The Sioux were never as strong, the Zulus and Greeks soon rose
up to become the world leaders, and I am back to my old ways, trading and
being smart.
