The Hundred Years War
It was one of my many games of Civ 2, and I was playing on my favorite settings (large map, 7 civs, varied continents) at Warlord level because I was having a bit of trouble at prince lately. I was alone on a fairly large island, and had 19 cities on it (they were tightly packed). I had the technological advantage and most of the wonders, and once I built the Marco Polo's Embassy, made contact with other civs. A few went to war with me, a few made peace. At that point I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with the game- launch the ship or kill things and take stuff. After a while, the Americans landed on my island. I wasn't too concerned, as I was planning to simply tell them to just get the ***** off my land.
However, I forgot for a few turns and when I told them to get off, they said they had nothing in my territory. I then discovered two American cities had been slipped into my territory. I was, needless to say, annoyed. I decided then and there I was going to conquer the planet. After all of my cities had a Manufacturing Plant and a Barracks (which was free due to the Company), I mass produced troops (Howitzers and Armors) in all of them. It was the quickest production of an army I had ever seen. In about 10 to 15 turns, I had 5 transports loaded, and the two American cities were reduced to rubble.
It was about 1775 when the transports sailed off to distant lands. They split up and began conquering, on average, one continent per transport (Veteran Howitzers work FAST!). The cities I conquered just built a unit, then capitalized to make more money. There was only one problem. I was a republic, so about every 3 turns, I had to make peace, then break the treaties (My reputation was pretty bad by the time the game ended).
After about 75 years, there were only 2 civs left standing. One was the Carthaginians, who were wiped out around 1855, and the other was the Japanese, who, by 1866, had but one city. However, I had an idea that would further increase my score. For about 10 turns, I simply surrounded the last enemy city, and maxed out the luxuries. This made all my cities grow and my population doubled instantly. I then conquered the last Japanese city and won with a score of 2154, a rating 101% and the title "Phil the Strong of the Spanish"
