I once played a Diety game as the Cinese. It was my first Diety game and I was average ranked as a Civ. Anyway, I was trapped on a continent at the Northern-most reaches of the map and I had a fairly large continent, the problem was that the bloody Spanish had dominion over ALL of the land surrounding my continent (There appened to be a continent that totally enclosed half of mine with strings of islands closing the half-circle!)! So I immediately filled up my continent to critical mass and made peace and formed an alliance with the Spanish (like I had a choice). Then, made a true butt of myself and declared war on every other Civ (7) on the planet. They promptly sent their Armadas in search of Chinese blood. Only one thing stood in their way, the now-gigantic Spanish.

The Spanish didn't like all of these foriegn shi in her waters and followed my suit, maintaining Worshipful standing with me. For the rest of the game the Spanish were embroiled in a titanic battle which consequently never reached my shores. So, not having enough space on this planet the Chinese decided to move to that Chinese safe-haven in the stars where we lived happily ever after.
