I started The game as chinese (In the real world map, large size) and quickly controlled all neighbours in Asia and Europe. I lashed out on science and bidded my time until I was maintaining medium sized Civ with Cruise missiles and stealth planes. I then set out to put the Zulus at rest as I found they were uncontrollable unlike their European friends.
I sailed in through Indonesia, past India and to the top of Africa with carriers and a sub full of cruise missiles as well as transports chock full of troops. I landed on the west side of Africa( one hell of a long way for me to sail) and built a city that I named BASE CAMP I planned to use it to produce me engineers to build airbases and build railroad. Around this time the two big Civs other than me ( Zulu and Sioux ) had Rifleman tech but not too much more. On the verge of me landing my men a Sioux destroyer attacked one of my battleships and I decided to go after the Sioux first instead.
I would build up BASE CAMP and maintain friendship with Zulus while I obliterated the Sioux. I sent my Original force over to America and Captured a large city as my base camp then signed a treaty. Meanwhile I built another carrier full of fighters and bombers and packed a sub with cruise missiles. I placed all but the sub on the east coast of America ready to attack and landed my units and formed them up. The Sioux didn't know what hit them.....my friendly sub had snuck up through the dark on the West Coast and assailed the big cities with missiles. The sioux screamed for treaties but to no avail I chose not to talk but rather bombed or fought all opposition from their cities and blasted or captured the cities left near defenseless. It was a pleasing victory........
I mopped up all the cities I hadn't got in my first few blitzing turns then stabilised my new cities and set off back to Africa. The Sioux were no more, the Zulus clock was ticking....... During my Blitz on the Sioux I had tightened my strangle hold more on the weak European cities and built up a much vaster stock of cruise missiles for the Zulus to sample. Once more I descended on the happless, unwary continent this time with a much vaster force and set up my pieces for check mate. I broke peace with the Zulus on some clause and then went into action not one sub chock full of Cruise missiles but 4-5 this time went into action. I smashed the defenses of near all the cities and then sent in my bombers and fighters to mop up all those annoying partisans. Lastly I rolled in my tanks and troops to complete a glorious sweep. Ignoring all calls for treaty may have been ruthless but necessary to continue a good blitz. It was a greatly pleasing 2 wars and I would advise anyone to try something along these lines, perhaps with nukes. In conclusion Civ2 is good !
