BACK TO 11TH!
(Oct.24) Ok, you can say that you're used to see the MGE date on EBWorld moving forward, but how about backwards? EbWorld now shows November 11th as the release date of Civ2: MGE! It seems to me that we'are getting close... Our thanks to Mike for sending us a note.

GAMESPOT'S MGE DATE
(Oct.21) You're going to tell me it's not true, but I'm posting it. Gamespot, on it's release dates page, shows that Civilization II - Multiplayer Edition is going to be released on October 30. Yeah, in nine days... The interesting part is that Gamespot only shows release dates for games that are going to be released in the next 2-3 weeks. Also, the type of MGE according to Gamespot is "online". Of course, Microprose's site has no info about it... Should we believe it?

NEOCIV SITE
(Oct.21) The chat on Saturday went good and a team is starting to form. Check out the NeoCiv site and join the discussion on the Hacking/Programming forum.

SID ON A DESERT ISLAND...
(Oct.16) Gamecenter asked eight great game designers which games they would take if they were to be left on a desert island. Sid Meier responded "StarCraft, Freecell and Sim City"! Also, Beyond AC reports that Amazon.com has a small interview with Sid, check it out.

NEOCIV CHAT
(Oct.14) If you have been checking on our Hacking/Programming Forum, you will know about an under-development project to create an open windows/unix civ-clone. Kwang is organizing a irc chat on Saturday for everyone who is interested in helping in this project. Here is his announcement.
(Oct.16) The chat will take place on our #civ irc chanel, on the irc.iol.ie server. The chat is scheduled for tomorrow Saturday, 8 PM GMT.

THIS IS A BIT PARANOID...
(14.Oct) Chips&Bits shows that Multiplayer Civilization 2: Gold Edition(MGE for short) will be out on October '98, for $27.99. Ok, you can say that this is normal, since various sites give about the same dates(October, November, or generally fall). The strange part is that they list Civilization 2: Test of Time(TOT for short) for a November '98 release!! The only logical explanation is that they mean '99...

NEW DATE: NOVEMBER 11TH, 17TH, *TH...
(5.Oct) EBWorld should start paying me for sending them visitors. :) Anyway, they now have November 11th as the release date of Civ2:MGE. The last change was 20 days ago when it changed from September 16th to October 30th. Speaking of release dates, SMAC is officially delayed, however a demo will be released in November.
(10.Oct) November 11th? Check again... The date has changed to November 17th. Our thanks to Jeffrey Sisk for the note.

HAPPYPUPPY SEES THE FUTURE
(4.Oct) Happypuppy has a very good feature on the official and un-official CivII sequels: Civilization: Call to Power from Activision and Sid Meier Alpha Centauri by Firaxis. Our thanks to Leons Petrazickis and Dan Abbott for sending us a note.
