Civilization II Multiplayer Gold Edition for Macintosh

Patch Release Notes.

Current game version: 1.0 with patch version 1.1.1 available either from MacSoft or ACS Database.

Important Note: If you are receiving the following error message when attempting to update Civilization II Multiplayer Gold Ed. (MGE) ver. 1.0 to 1.1.1, you must rename the application from "Civilization II Gold 1.0" to "Civilization II Gold 1.1".

Error message: An error prevented the update from completing. Update error: Civilization II Gold 1.1 1102:2,-14

What's happening is that the updater is looking for "Civilization II Gold 1.1" and when it can't find it, it spits out that cryptic error code. Thing is, it'll never find "Civilization II Gold 1.1" because the Civ installer called the application "Civilization II Gold 1.0" upon installing.

Thanks to Mike.doc for posting the error and to CmdrSalamander for the work-around and explanation.
