SCREENSHOTS!

Here is a typical shot from Civilization for comparison: Civ I screen

Screenshots from Civilization II

All these shots are from the final version, Civilization II v 1.0. I am grateful to Varcon Systems for giving me an advanced preview copy of the game so I can share it with all of you. Click on any of the small shots to get the full screen version.

This is a typical screen shows several units and the whole screen. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Golden Age of Phil Sm
This is the 'Golden Age of Philosophy Window. The first civilization to discover Philosophy gets one free Civ advance!

City window, small
This is the city window, showing several of possible units/improvements at the time.........

This is the high council screen. The characters come alive (video) when you click on them for advice. They are very funny. Call me crazy, but I think the foreign minister is kind of cute (specially when she says 'betray them later...')

This is a typical superior civilization taunting you. Note that the advances (on the right of the picture) do not have the names: I think this is because there was no embassy established at the time. The emissaries are cool: they are animated and move in reaction to your responses.

This was the much friendlier Japanese emissary. Note that the civilization advances on the right of the leader's picture are listed, I had an embassy established.

This is from the civilopedia. The Astronomy advance. I like the progression chart at the bottom.

This is also from the civilopedia. The Temple improvement. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

MapMap EditorMap

Civ II also comes with a map editor (rules and unit types are edited in a different way, more info later). Here is a typical screen.
