MANIFEST
DESTINY
REVIEW BY JASPREET SHAHEED,
PAGE 2
In the end this entire question may be irrelevant, Manifest Destiny has
no 'release date' as
such, the programmers (including Ron Hiler whose such a nice bloke he's
helping out the creators of Stellar Civilisations!!) are committed to
having it finished before releasing it, which, laudible as it is, may
put it out a few months after MGE. There may be a much better game around
the corner, gigantic asteroids may be heading towards the Earth, intent
on wiping out the eight most powerful countries in the world (See the
Forum :). My bet is that Microprose might as well just stick great propellors
on the boxes of MGE, thats the only way they're going to get the games
off the shelves faster than civII fans world-wide will snatch them up,
and Manifest Destiny may be picked off the shelves by some of the C&C
renegades & CivIIer's torn between Meier & Microprose (but then.. aren't
we all?), Manifest Destiny may be overshadowed by MGE, a possibly inferior
game.
In conclusion, make your own minds up,
but I personally will be thinking long and hard before deciding to plump
for a brand-name.
