MANIFEST
DESTINY
REVIEW BY JASPREET SHAHEED
So what do I think? Well if I had Manifest destiny in one hand, and CivII
in another hand I would
play Manifest Destiny any day. Why? Because Manifest Destiny seems to
be a turbo-charged version of CivII (with some nifty extra features).
There have been some nice ideas, i particularly like the idea of templates,
an infinite variery of units also sounds cool. But, on the other hand
CivII was released a great deal earlier, & Multiplayer CivII is just around
the corner? Which is better, Manifest destiny or the 'Official' Multiplayer
CivII. There are a lot of problems comparing two games which have not
come out yet, (the first being I have NO idea about what I am talking),
however Manifest Destiny has some nice ideas, especially where a near
infinite variety of units are concerned (yes please!!), it is also multiplayer,
and when it comes down to it, thats what we really want. We can make up
our own units and our own scenarios but the various multiplayer add-ons
to CivII leave a lot to be desired. Manifest Destiny may well be a better
Multiplayer game than the official multiplayer civII, but then Kwang has
set up the Multiplayer section on the basis we will be playing MGE, we
have all seen screenshots, and have heard talk of strategies, when it
comes down to it if everybody else buys the official civIII who is one
of us to argue? What is the point in having the best Multiplayer game
in the world if no-one else has it? (obviously to play against the AI,
but in that case you might as well just get scenarios for CivII?)
