April 13 FIRAXIS SITE UPDATE: MOVIES, GRAPHICS TOOLS & INFO
"Coinciding with the release of the new patch, Firaxis has updated it`s Civilization IV website. The update adds a bunch of new files. Among these are the new patch, Pitboss and the SDK, but also a number of other ones: For those having trouble playing the in-game movies (such as stuttering), low-resolution versions of all in-game movies have been put online (380 MB total), these should play better on affected systems and will hopefully solve these kinds of problems."

"Written and produced for official registrants of ApolyCon `06, machinima series Age of Nations "ApolyCon `06" Greetings"` video has been released. It uses the opportunity to poke fun at Apolyton Civilization Site from which the conference was based, Rise of Nations, and the series itself. Includes a number of characters "breaking the fourth wall" and introduces a never-before-seen character. This work was first shown `live` at this event in Timonium, MD on July 8th, 2006."

"Stan "stankarp" Karpinski released another update to his hugely successful Call to Power II mod Ages of Man, which is a complete overhaul of the standard game, both in terms of graphics and gameplay, and has been dubbed an unofficial sequel to Call to Power II by many. The latest update, the third iteration in the series, has been six months in the making and was released late last May."
