THE KING IS DEAD… LONG LIVE THE KING!
Happy 7th Birthday Apolyton. It’s been another fine year.
Like with all games, Civ III is slowing down. Some might even argue that it was never as popular as the game it replaced, Civ II. So the King is dead.
But again… the excitement is starting to build. Suggestions, thoughts, guesses and anticipation can be seen. The new king will be born soon. Everybody is waiting for the answer to the big question. Not whether the game will be better… but whether it will be a game that we like. I’m sure we will see plenty of new features, better graphics and many other exciting changes. But it will still come down to playability… and how much each individual likes the game.
I’m wishing for a great MP game. The Civ II MP community is getting smaller by the day, yet we still play. There is still more Civ II MP action, than there is Civ III MP action. The real diehard MP players are looking for a new MP Civ game, and Civ III wasn’t it. Hopefully they will get it right this time.
So the New Year will bring great excitement… new posters, fresh blood, heated arguments, new strategies, many updates, as the Civ franchise continues.
It will be a great year for Apolyton.
